Granny's Apple Strudel.
Updated: Jul 23, 2020
Simple recipe - Perfect to satisfy any sweet tooth.

An apple a day keeps the doctor away. - unknown
I am sure that this saying is also true if you eat the apple in the form of a strudel. For example, when you are sitting in your apartment on a rainy Sunday afternoon and feel that there is nothing else to do but eat. This apple strudel is definitely the perfect afternoon snack.
What you'll need:
- 1 strudel pastry
- 600g apples (i like to use Boskop)
- 1 lemon (1/2 lemon zest, 1 tbs lemon juice)
- 4 tbs ground almonds
- 4 tbs sugar
- cinnamon
- melted butter
Peel and grate the apples and then add all the other ingredients. Spread the filling evenly over the dough (leave 2 cm on the sides). Roll up the dough and place it on a baking tray with the seam facing down. Then brush the strudel with butter.
Bake the strudel at 200° Celsius in the middle of the oven for about 35 minutes.
Eat the strudel while it is still warm and make your stomach happy!
Happy baking!
Love, Carmen
